This lovely property is located in Praiano, a small, authentic town 100 meters above the sea, idyllically situated in the heart of the Amalfi Coast, between Positano and Amalfi. The 400-m² villa is a former fisherman’s house, which has been completely restored. From here, one has an incomparable view over the vast gardens and the sea, all the way to Capri on the horizon. The splendid terraced gardens cover over 6,000 m² and are protected by old stone walls. More than 250 different types of rare and exotic Mediterranean plants decorate the terraces and line the gentle stone steps leading down to the sea. The grounds were designed by renowned Belgian landscape architect Jacques Wirtz. In the upper garden, there is a traditional oval basin (not a pool) with a lovely fountain. There are numerous natural green spaces throughout the park, shaded by lush vegetation and perfect for resting. On the second level of the grounds, near the lemon orchard, a large, 9×5 meter pool made of pale stone is surrounded by comfortable lounge furniture and deck chairs with ample sun protection. An olive grove and a vegetable garden round off this grand ensemble. The villa can be reached, as is usual on the Amalfi coast, along a small lane and a path with stairs, and is approximately 250 meters from the church square. In seven minutes, and after numerous steps, one arrives at the exclusive estate. Vehicles can be parked on the coastal road, in a guarded parking lot about five minutes from the stairs to the villa. The shops can also be found along this road. The villa’s staff will transport your luggage up to the house.
The entire ensemble is exceptionally graceful, and has only the wide open sea vis-à-vis. The property’s private rocky bay is accessible via stone steps, and several small terraces with sun beds and parasols can be found along the way. A large, stable ladder anchored in rock goes down to the water (for children 7 years and up, unless accompanied by an adult). The entire property is maintained year-round and is very exclusive.
